Ruth Johnson Park July 15, 2018

On July 15th, on a hot and sunny Sunday, the Lower Mainland Green Team tackled English Ivy and Himalayan Blackberry at Ruth Johnson Park in White Rock.

This activity was made possible by the City of White Rock – thank you Vania, Scott and Ralph!

Highlights:

  • 15 volunteers contributed 43 hours
  • We removed 5 cubic metres of Himalayan Blackberry and English Ivy from an area measuring 100 square metres
  • 2 trees were rescued from English Ivy strangling them!
  • Many of our volunteers walked or biked to the site!
  • Some volunteers were talking about checking out Tour de White Rock afterwards together
